Here is part of the opening sequence to 'Enemy of the State'.
Similarly to Grace's idea of Panic Room, I thought this video was particularly interesting and elements of it could be used for our thriller trailer.
IGNORE THE CREDITS/WRITING ON SCREEN, I COULDN'T FIND THIS CLIP WITHOUT THEM ON.
First of all, I originally had the idea of crime linking in with government control. I believe this shows it pretty well, (Jon Voight) the dominating character wants something from the other. He is unwilling to take no as an answer and so takes the 'necessary' actions. I thought in our thriller we could have some sort of confrontation between characters (like the one shown). This could lead into a chase between the two: one trying to get away and one trying to catch them as they have something they want/need. I do not want our film to be solely based on this clip, but characters/dialogue/plot all could be taken from this clip ready to expand on later.
Secondly, I think the music in this clip is something to take note of - it has a melodic and almost 'worried' sound effect adding suspense and building up tension before the clip has actually started. It is good to have in the background as it leads into the camera shots very well, the clip would lose much of its effectiveness if it wasn't there. The is another key element I think we should look at.
Hopefully we can converge many of the ideas & representations shown in 'Se7en', 'Panic Room' & 'Enemy of the State' and many more but I see this as a good starting point.
