Preliminary Film Evaluation

the film that we produced was about 1 minute long and was very simple. The key shots that were used in the very opening were the Point of View shot through the eyes of the student walking down the corridor. This was done in a silent corridor to enhance the sound of footsteps and the intent was also to enhance suspense. The cut to the close up on the watch was designed to magnify the suspense of the situation.
As the student walked into the room the continuation of the shot i would say was very good. It did seem an almost seemless transition from the Point of View shot looking through the door, to the long shot of the student coming through the door. Through the following conversation using the alternating over the shoulder shots the camera work itself was reasonably well done. However the high of the shot varied slightly during one of the cuts.
The sound throughout the entire text was alright however we didn't use any background music but there was nothing appropriate or short enough for the text. The footsteps were most likely the best and only sound effect and it did work very well.
When it came to the editing the biggest problem was the sound and picture as they were not synchronized. To solve this we had to delay the sound for every frame by 1 second but was simple enough to do. The problem after that was getting the continuity, which we did quite successfully, and also the real time aspect of the text which I feel again was very successful.
